The upgrades and changes Timex made in the Timex Sinclair 2068 limited its compatibility with ZX Spectrum software. Only a small percentage of ZX Spectrum BASIC-only programs can be loaded and run on the 2068.
As a result, a number of companies produced innovative solutions that adapted the ZX Spectrum ROM to work with the 2068. One of the simplest methods was to mount the ROM on a 2068 cartridge board.
This cartridge does not auto-boot in to ZX Spectrum mode. Because of the 2068’s bank switching mechanism, you have to enter OUT 244,3 to make the 2068 switch.
This cartridge contains the 1982 48K Spectrum ROM. It gives you about 98% compatibility with ZX Spectrum software.
